December........

December and the pattern is complete, this month I used a simple combination of rib and cables which swapped over every few days:

The whole scarf - 274cm (9 feet) in length:
In total I have used 1 bright blue ball, 1 3/4 pale blue balls, just over 2 cream balls, 1 1/2 pale grey balls and 1/2 a dark grey ball. Definitely more dry days than rainy ones, our fabulous summer certainly helped with that!!

Now to finish it off........

November........

The penultimate month and a fairly simple pattern - 4 zigzags and moss stitch:

Just one more month to go - thankfully as it is getting really long now.......

October...........

With the arrival of October along came the cloud, wind and rain. Thankfully we spent a fabulous five days in Malaga with unbroken sunshine and temperatures into the 30s giving me a chance (maybe the last of the year?) for some bright blue days! I chose a simple pattern this month with a couple of ribbed cables and some diagonal stripes:

The scarf is getting pretty long now, so I came up with a novel way to fit it all in to one photo......

September..........

September has been glorious - day after day of sunshine, it's just a shame I had to be in work! The pattern is called scotch faggot cable and has both lace and cable stitches, the repeats made it very easy to do:

It's getting difficult to photograph the whole scarf now, but I love the way you can clearly see what a brilliant summer we have had.

August.........

A week on a Greek Island has contributed to the bright blue week during this month:
I used a quite complicated cable pattern during this month, it was really tricky to keep on top of whether I was going over or under and exactly when I needed to complete each cable - I don't plan to use such a complicated pattern again during this project!

The overall scarf is now a useable length - just another 4 months to go and I think it's going to be much taller than I am!!

July.........

The lovely summer has continued, in fact it has almost been too hot on occasion - at least the schools have now broken up so I don't have to try and teach in this lovely weather!

This month I have completed some very wide striped cables, worked with 3 stitches:

The scarf is now getting so long it is difficult to fit it all into a picture:

June........

June has been a lovely sunny month - hence the large chunks of pale blue. The pattern this month has been a pair of honeycomb stitch strips either side of two middle 5 stitch cables:

The scarf is now half way to the final length - if I go all the way to the 31st December it is going to be a very long scarf!!
